At Forte dei Marmi on the Versilia coast, one Tuscany’s top locations and a luxury seaside resort, architect Michele Vitaloni of Charmitaliastudio handled the entire project for the restyling of Hotel Miramonti, in its beautiful green setting. The large, luminous spaces are characterised by contemporary style and furnishings, in natural shades from beiges to greys. The rooms, of different types and with no two identical, located on the ground, first and second (“tower”) floors, were decorated using porcelain stoneware tiles from the Grande Marble Look collection by Marazzi in the large 120x120 cm and 120x240 cm sizes with thickness of 6 mm in Frappuccino, Golden White and Capraia colours. Thanks to the digital reproduction technology which accurately re-creates the veining, colours and shades of natural marble, combined with its outstanding light weight, malleability and strength, this product enables the architect to design multiple compositions on the floors, alternated with natural wood, on the walls as pictures or inserts, and as washbasin counters. The project is of particular interest for its decontextualization of the Marazzi materials, used in original, unexpected ways that add attraction to the wall coverings by experimenting with different forms.
