Complesso residenziale – Sesto San Giovanni

Milano (MI) Italy

L2 Architetti studio took on the partial redevelopment of an industrial complex, designing three new residential buildings in addition to an entrance hall housing a reception and apartment block services, all enhanced by extensive green spaces.

Large slabs in stone-effect porcelain stoneware from the Mystone Ceppo di Gré collection by Marazzi, in the 75x150 cm size Grey variant, clad the entrance gateway – surmounted by large planters – emphasising the complex’s industrial heritage. The same collection is used for the facades, for interiors on the ground floor, and for stairwells and door and window surrounds, acting as a linking element between interior and exterior spaces. The Mystone Basalto Piombo collection in the natural finish, which reproduces the colours and compact structure of volcanic stone in stoneware, is used in the lobbies and the entrance hall. The patented StepWise technology applied to a number of surfaces in the Mystone collection proves especially useful in areas with heavy foot traffic, as it offers excellent anti-slip properties while still guaranteeing surfaces that are soft to the touch, immutable and easy to maintain.
