Architect Carmine Abate has designed a large terrace overlooking the Gulf of Naples where art and design come together.

A carpet of blue waves overlooking Vesuvius: architect Carmine Abate had a true vision for the terrace of a private house in Marano di Napoli. The outdoor floor, which enjoys a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples and the volcano, becomes an artistic element thanks to the use of the white and blue wave decoration of the Crogiolo Scenario porcelain stoneware collection, making it an integral part of the panorama.

With its contemporary mood, the terrace echoes the colours of the sky and sea, blending into its surroundings with character and elegance, like a true art installation.

I wanted to create continuity between the context and the outdoor area of the house,” explains the designer who carried out the project, “as well as a frame that embraces the natural elements that form the backdrop of the terrace, creating a carpet of waves on the floor. They were installed in a way that creates a very fluid and elegant movement... they are good waves emanating from Vesuvius, which dominates the landscape.

To embody this idea of a “gentle” wave, the architect chose Crogiolo Scenario’s Blu Tappeto 2 decor, creating an almost hypnotic effect that changes depending on the perspective from which it is viewed.
