The terracotta-effect stoneware Slow by Marazzi has been awarded for its innovative and sustainable design that combines tradition and modernity with low environmental impact materials and production techniques.

Slow by Marazzi wins the ninth edition of the Archiproducts Design Award 2024, a prize that celebrates excellence in global design. The international jury, which includes some of the world’s most sought-after architects, designers, journalists, architectural photographers, and creative directors, selected the terracotta-effect porcelain stoneware collection Slow for its innovative concept and design.

Additionally, a jury specifically selected by experts in Eco-Design and Sustainability awarded the Slow collection the 2024 Sustainable Award, recognizing it as a product that adheres to the principles of sustainable design, thanks to its high recycled material content and low environmental impact production techniques.

Slow is a collection inspired by terracotta, a synthesis of tradition and modernity that simulates hand-beaten earth, deliberately irregular with small imperfections. Thanks to Premium Technology 3D Ink, it is possible to achieve very material and diverse results on each individual piece, giving the collection a strong personality.

The collection is produced within a closed production cycle, which involves the use of production waste, the recovery of packaging, process water, and excess heat generated in some production phases such as firing. The entire industrial production process also allows for the limitation of natural resource consumption and reduction of environmental impact through the morphological and vegetative restoration of quarries, controlled waste management, optimization of energy consumption, and reuse of industrial water.

Slow is made with a high percentage of recycled material – between 30-40% – contributing to the achievement of LEED® credits in the Materials and Resources category. Among the various certifications that attest to the product’s environmental quality, Slow also possesses Greenguard, which ensures compliance with the most stringent international standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in indoor environments.
