San Marino San Marino
Floor refurbishment and renovation of a historic building - 1
Segreteria di Stato San Marino

In the historic centre of San Marino, the restoration of an 18th-century building, abandoned for some time and now used as the headquarters of the small republic’s Secretariat of State, is an outstanding example of competence and attention to the historical context. The designer, architect Simona Faetanini of the Archdesign firm, respected the original style and details, while also incorporating state-of-the-art technology.

The floors are covered with Marazzi’s Treverkchic wood-effect porcelain stoneware, chosen in the warm Noce Italiano finish, which enhances the aesthetic appeal of the original flooring with indisputable strength and ease of maintenance, essential properties for a high-traffic environment. The end result is a dynamic interplay of different materials, harmoniously blending exposed stone walls, wooden ceiling beams and exquisite marble inserts.
