Prysmian

The new headquarters of Prysmian in Milan, a project overseen by architect Maurizio Varratta that began in 2011 and was launched in late 2016, aims at the redevelopment of the area, preserving the memory of its industrial past while complying with new energy and environmental requirements. The complex is composed of four buildings dedicated to the offices which themselves are broken up by two “bioclimatic greenhouses”, triple-height glazed spaces distinctive for the presence of green areas. For this project, a combination of technology and green design, the rectified porcelain stoneware tiles from a “custom” Marazzi fabric-effect collection were chosen, their soft and unusual pattern creating a graphical frame in a very fashionable anthracite grey around the planted areas or the zones with parquet flooring. The same floor tiles, in the 60x60 cm size, were used in the offices and other collective spaces, paired with the white chosen for the furnishings. For the floor tiles of the bathrooms the MyStone Kashmir 30x60 cm stone-effect porcelain stoneware collection was chosen. Also in white, the velvety surface of these tiles is perfectly in sync with the colours and the other materials used.
