Luna del Raccolto Country Hotel

Valderice, a few kilometres from Trapani and Erice, is home to the Luna del Raccolto Country Boutique Hotel, the first green hotel in Italy. The renovated former 19th-century farmhouse is nestled in a lush Sicilian garden and boasts elegant, sophisticated and welcoming interiors, offering an experience that respects nature and resources, especially water and energy.

An innovative pilot project by architect Daniela Guarneri, an integrated design model for an existing building with high environmental and energy performance, for which an application for Leed Platinum certification has been initiated as part of the programme developed by the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable buildings, specifically designed for sustainable tourism. The choice of materials was also in keeping with the design concept: Marazzi’s Mystone Silverstone Grigio collection, which reproduces the natural colour, texture and grey shades of pietra serena sandstone, was chosen for the outdoor and indoor flooring, bathrooms and indoor stairs, in three different sizes. Concern for human and environmental health is at the heart of the hotel’s hospitality values.
