Locanda Nonna Rosa
At Somma Vesuviana, a town on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius famous for its traditional Neapolitan cuisine, a traditional restaurant has been given a design facelift by architect Luigi Sorrentino of the Laud Dual firm.
The Locanda Nonna Rosa, one of the area’s typical trattorias led by itinerant chef Vincenzo Nocerino, now has a modern look and a minimalist style, while still offering its good, simple traditional food.
The design project involved a stylistic transformation of the dining areas (one outdoor and two indoor), using new large-size porcelain stoneware tiles for a more uniform, airy effect.
The flooring of the indoor rooms is in Grande Concrete Lookconcrete-effect porcelain stoneware in the 160x320 cm maxi-size and 6 mm slimline thickness. On the outdoor terrace, on the other hand, two colour variants of the Mineral metallic-effect stoneware collection in the 75x150 cm size are alternated.
For the kitchens, the flooring chosen was a small size marble chip look: Crogiolo D_Segni Scaglie was installed both in decor version and in monochrome version, in a chequered pattern.
There is also a return to the traditional majolica ware look in the toilet: the glossy, “flawed” surface of Crogiolo Lume porcelain stoneware, which covers all the walls in an attractive shade of blue.
