Hotel Zallinger

The extension of the Zallinger Mountain Refuge by noa*, the Bolzano-based architectural firm, restores its original hamlet layout, re-creating the traditional forms of the Alto Adige region's high summer pastures for the modern age. 24 rooms are added to the 13 already available in the Refuge's main building, also renovated on sustainability and responsible tourism lines, consisting of prefabricated wooden modules, custom-built to fit perfectly into their context. The porcelain stoneware Mystone Pietra di Vals collection by Marazzi, was chosen by the noa* architectural firm for the most heavily used communal areas such as the lobby, the restaurant and the spa, included in the main complex, and in the bathrooms, which run seamlessly into the bedrooms. A more than realistic interpretation of the colours and the surface veining of this rare quartzite, the collection combines the natural stone effect with easy care, excellent performance, and weather and wear resistance: fundamental aspects in the harsh climate of a high-altitude environment.
