Well away from the city noise and surrounded by the sea and palm trees, the Hotel Lafodia enjoys a unique location on the island of Lopud. The island is a member of the Elaphiti archipelago, the southernmost of the Croatian holiday islands. The hotel is on a huge scale: usable floor area of 13500 m2. The materials used: Soho was used for the floors of the communal areas: more than 2500 m2 of stoneware slabs in size 60x60. SistemA 30x60, in the colours white, orange, yellow and red, covers the kitchen walls, together with SistemC - Città 20x20; the traditional SistemT - Graniti tiles are used for the service and production rooms, with natural, polished and Diamond surfaces and thickness increased to 14 mm for the goods unloading bays. The new Soho collection large step tiles have been laid on the public staircases. The step tiles are produced by bending Soho stoneware slabs. More than 800 large step tiles have been manufactured for this application. In the 182 bedrooms, the use as floor covering of Treverk Capuccino in a random-laid mix of the 10x120, 15x120 and 20x120 sizes has proved to be a great success: the material allows the rooms to be managed simply and efficiently. Materie stoneware in the 60x60 size in orange and bright blue has been laid in the en-suite bathrooms. For the outdoor areas, Monolith stoneware slabs have been used in white. This light-coloured material fits perfectly into the island context. The edge of the spillover pool edge is tiled with strips of white and blue SistemA crystallised stoneware, cut by the water-jet method. The public toilets serving the pool have coverings in Monolith and Vanity series ceramic tiles.
