ResidentialA renovation project that combines functionality, aesthetics and material innovation.
In the heart of Berlin, within a historic building, a small duplex has been completely transformed by BÄM Studio into a contemporary, bright and functional sanctuary. The intervention has revolutionised the original layout, which was dark and compartmentalised, creating fluid, airy spaces full of character.
A key role was given to the porcelain stoneware collection Frammento Macro Azzurro, chosen for the flooring throughout the home and for the kitchen splashback cladding. The terrazzo-effect porcelain stoneware, in a 60x60 cm format, combines a luminous white base with intense blue fragments, imparting energy and visual coherence to the spaces. The graphics of the collection, developed with the assistance of artificial intelligence, impart a unique and contemporary visual identity, perfectly in keeping with the spirit of the project.
“We were seeking a material that was simultaneously graphic, durable and timeless. Frammento has introduced light and character to every room, becoming the foundation upon which the entire concept was constructed,” explains Camille Ladan, founder of BÄM Studio.
The result is a compact yet dramatic home, where every design decision – from materials to colours – contributes to creating a dynamic and inviting atmosphere.
