Casa Velo

Siete Aguas Spain
Porcelain stoneware for a minimalist house - 1
Casa Velo

A two-floor home that is an anthem to the beauty of simplicity. Casa Velo is at Siete Aguas, not far from Valencia, and was designed by Raul Garcia Studio. White dominates throughout the home and contrasts attractively with the shade of the wood-effect stoneware used for all the floors. “We chose the Treverktrend collection – in Rovere Miele shade and the 25 x 150 cm size – because it is able to evoke the warmth of wood in such contemporary interiors,” Raúl García explains, underlining that: “as well as its attractive appearance, stoneware offers major advantages such as low maintenance and durability. As an architect, I consider not just the material’s technical performances but also its versatility, which allows its use in all the rooms of the house and also outdoors.” With its imperfect veining, the Miele shade, chosen from among the many available in the Treverktrend wood-effect stoneware collection, creates a continuity between all the rooms of the home, which recall northern European houses, often characterised by sharp lines and symmetrical spaces. There is a constant dialogue with the outside world throughout the home thanks to the large windows. The Rovere Miele colour also combines attractively with the geometrical, almost sculpted facade, which alternates areas of plasterwork with stone cladding, to create simple spaces which still convey warmth.
