The AI Progetti designers combine tradition and modernity in the new CA’ VENEZIA sports centre, partly through the use of ceramic materials such as Cementum stoneware and floating floor technology.

The CA’ VENEZIA sports centre, strategically located in Mestre (Italy) as a new home for the Venetian football community, proudly welcomes the youth squads, along with the men’s and women’s first teams.

The central element of this ambitious project, designed by AI Progetti, is the Headquarter building, which serves as the heart of the sports centre. This innovative facility is not only an administrative and sports venue, but is designed as a true modern building. Its design incorporates distinctive elements of traditional Venetian architecture, reinterpreting them in a contemporary way to create a work that reflects the city’s unique identity.

In the building’s interior spaces, from the changing rooms to the offices and sanitary facilities, Cementum porcelain stoneware is the main choice, in different colours, ranging from lighter Ash and Nickel to darker Carbon, sizes and surfaces for all floor and wall coverings in the football venue. A material that not only lends a contemporary aesthetic to the spaces, but also guarantees high performance, produced with recycled materials and the most advanced Marazzi Premium Technologies, perfectly adapting to the needs of this dynamic sports environment. This material also contributes to LEED credits thanks to its certifications.

One of the project’s distinctive architectural elements is the loggia that surrounds the building, offering panoramic views of the surrounding football fields. For the exterior, the designers opted for a floating floor using the same concrete-effect collection in the 60x120 cm size in a 20 mm version (Cementum20). The raised floor features highly effective technology since it creates a continuous void under the floor surface that can be utilized to route technical systems.

In conclusion, the CA’ VENEZIA sports centre is not just a place where football is played, but an architectural icon that embodies the soul and passion of Venetian football.
