In the heart of Rome, architect Angelo Bruno transforms an existing flat into an elegant, functional space perfectly tailored to its owners’ needs.

The renovation of UC Flat stems from the desire to reinterpret an existing Roman home through an essential, measured design language capable of combining functionality, comfort and elegance.

The project by Angelo Bruno begins with a complete reorganisation of the original layout, characterised by fragmented and impractical spaces. The new configuration enhances the fluidity of circulation and the dialogue between the different rooms, making the living area the heart of the home.

The unifying element of the intervention is the Oltre wood-effect porcelain stoneware collection, used throughout the home in the Sand colour and 20x120 cm format. Inspired by the authenticity of natural wood, Oltre faithfully reproduces the grain, nuances and tactile details of different wood species, translating them into a warm, sophisticated porcelain stoneware surface. The Sand tone complements the project's palette and helps to spread a feeling of brightness and comfort throughout the home.

The continuous laying pattern accompanies the transition between the different rooms without visual interruptions, reinforcing the perception of a unified and harmonious space. In the living room, utility areas and bedrooms, the wood-effect flooring provides an elegant and versatile foundation, capable of enhancing both the bespoke furnishings and the colour accents selected for the project.

The result is a balanced and timeless home, in which architecture, light and materials combine to create functional and refined spaces.
