The innovative Marazzi Tecnica SistemA crystallized porcelain has been selected amongst the 100 best Italian design items by Osservatorio Permanente del Design ADI (ADI's Design Council). As well as appearing in the ADI Design Index 2008, the SistemA collection will also take part in the XXII edition of the ADI Compasso d’Oro awards, to be held in Rome in 2011.

‘SistemA’ crystallized porcelain slabs have been developed by applying exclusive technologies, developed in the Marazzi Group's laboratories and covered by a patent application, which enhances the porcelain's color: the crystalline phase which completes SistemA’s innovative production process gives the surface depth and three-dimensional color. A colored material that makes a new way of designing with ceramics possible, SistemA is available in 18 colors, including cool, warm and saturated shades, while colors can also be produced to the architect’s specifications. Originated in a large size, SistemA is the ideal product for use on vertical surfaces subject to high stresses, and horizontal surfaces destined for heavy traffic, such as ventilated curtain walls and raised floors.

Produced in accordance with the principles of environmental eco-sustainability, thanks to its high recycled material content SistemA is certified by the international LEED system, which certifies buildings' energy sustainability, and has also obtained the Ecolabel, the European Union environmental quality label awarded to products which satisfy and comply with both environmental requirements and the rational use of energy and natural resources.

This major recognition from the ADI reflects the Marazzi Group’s prioritization of and constant commitment to research and development. The Group already has other products admitted to the XXII edition of the Compasso d’Oro, including the Marazzi ‘Soho’ three-dimensional porcelain module, the ‘Revision’ extra-large ceramic slabs, and the Hatria ‘Easywarm’ heated ceramic system.

Quality, stylistic and technological innovation, environmental awareness, compliance with the principles of eco-sustainability, and the development of new uses and applications for ceramics, are the keystones of the Marazzi Group’s strategy and operations, enabling it to reply to the needs of modern architecture with fresh, new solutions.
