The new “Pietro and Maria Marazzi Training Centre”, a state-of-the-art facility to be used exclusively for the professional growth of Marazzi Group workers and the ceramic coverings industry as a whole, was opened on 9 May 2011, at Sassuolo (Modena, Italy) in the presence of the President of the Emilia-Romagna Region Vasco Errani, the Mayor of Sassuolo Luca Caselli, the Rector of Modena and Reggio Emilia University Aldo Tomasi and the company’s top management.
The Centre occupies about 1000 m2 within the Casiglie production location, the plant that incorporates the ceramic coverings industry’s best, most high-tech manufacturing technologies which the Marazzi Group opened in 2010. It provides classrooms with modern equipment for teaching and skill updating, a large library-reading area, an audio-visuals area and a lecture theatre with more than 100 seats.
The Centre was designed by Uainot Architetti of Bologna, which renovated a former laboratory and office building in a project with the lowest possible impact in terms of construction waste and building sustainability and flexibility, achieved in part through the use of a Marazzi Engineering raised floor.
The new Training Centre is a major step in the development plan the Group has implemented in Italy during the last two years, with over 100 million euro of investments completed, especially in groundbreaking new products and technologies.
