Casa MP: different material effects blend to perfection in a minimalist interior
To discover all the potentials of a ceramic covering collection, you often have to go beyond the description of its characteristics and take a look at interiors that include it, to appreciate its aesthetic effect. In this fresh, modern flat designed by Tuscan firm Msplus_Architettura, nothing that looks like wood actually is wood: the owners obviously love the warmth and personality of wood, but prefer a material that does not require any particular care and attention. In fact, the floors of the entire apartment, including the bathrooms, the walls of the shower enclosure, and the TV wall in the kitchen, are covered with wood-effect porcelain stoneware.
All the rest - furnishings, fittings and walls - is white, in a total contrast with the flooring in porcelain stoneware tiles from the Treverkmust collection, chosen in Beige, a shade with overtones of honey. The chosen size (25x150 cm) allows the regular installation pattern to be maintained on both floors and walls, emphasising the size of the rooms.
The distribution of spaces within the apartment, which is in contemporary, minimalist style, is very functional and features several original solutions, including a glazed panel in the wall between the master bathroom and the bedroom. This transparent insert is actually inside the shower lined with wood-effect stoneware.
The same continuity of material can be achieved with the other colours in the collection(Brown, Taupeand White), although the style of the interiors changes, depending on whether a more industrial, vintage or Scandinavian touch is required. What's more, this project used the rectangular size, but there is also a chevron version, preferable for creating more complex floor patterns and a slightly more classical look, typical of French interiors.
