When tradition meets the digital age

Frammento interprets Venetian Terrazzo with Artificial Intelligence, which generates constantly varied surfaces free from all repetition. With three sizes and the same number of colour shades, available with different dimensions of included particles, the collection opens out completely original scenarios

At the state of the art in technology and experimentation, Marazzi uses Artificial Intelligence in porcelain stoneware for the first time. Frammento is an indoor tile collection that gives a contemporary interpretation to Venetian Seminato. While referencing the long tradition of Battuto floors consisting of cement or clay and granulated stone with aggregates of various sizes, common in Italy’s Triveneta region, Frammento’s aesthetic is highly original, especially in its colours.

The product’s graphic design was developed using the patented DDGAN technology, the first creative artificial intelligence applied to the world of surfaces, able to generate patterns across potentially infinite areas with no cloned sequences. The images, constantly new but always in line with the inspiration material, are created thanks to machine learning processes on the basis of a series of real examples, assimilated during the acquisition stage. Therefore, AI provides the unpredictability and uniqueness normally only found in nature.

The Frammento collection is available in three sizes with geometrical modularity (120×120 cm, 60×120 cm, 60×60 cm) and in three colours (Azzurro, Cotto and Verde), which appear in the included aggregates in the Micro and Macro versions. The varying particle sizes give the surfaces irregularity and ensure they are free from repetition. Frammento marks the start of a new era in ceramic surfaces, in which there are no limits to creativity and completely original aesthetic scenarios are just waiting to be explored.
