The Welcoming Room, studio Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel redesign the showroom for Design Week

The kitchen has always retained its emotional role of signifying authenticity: it is the room for hospitality and for bringing people together, a maternal space with profound importance for our relationships. Continuously evolving, the interior layout embraces the concept of a Living Kitchen, a dynamic and open area in which two rooms – the kitchen and the living room – merge and perfectly coexist, integrated and central to the home. This is the theme of the new installation by the Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel firm for the Marazzi showroom, to mark Milan’s Design Week.
Patricia Viel: “A cosy and friendly home environment in which the kitchen space almost merges with the living room. The dialogue between the two rooms is reinforced by the use of materials... from oak for the kitchen table to stoneware with an artisan look, they convey a sense of warmth and timeless domesticity. A space exclusively consisting of interior architecture, celebrating not the kitchen, but cooking, not the lounge, but being together.”

The space is dominated by the glossy oval mosaic created using the Mystone Travertino collection, in the Navona version. All around, almost the entire surface is covered by the vibrantly luminescent Crogiolo Rice collection, in Natural shade and in the 5x15, 7.5x20 and 15x15 cm sizes. Mystone Travertino Silver is chosen for the kitchen countertop.
