The Material Lounge is a place to inhabit, even before being a place to visit.
A space designed to slow down the pace of the Salone and put the focus back on relationships: with materials, with the space, with people.
The inspiration comes from Japanese listening bars: intimate spaces, soft lighting, a carefully balanced equilibrium between presence and silence. Here, sound gives way to material, which becomes the language through which the space tells its story.
A continuous gesture runs through the space and organizes it, while along the way more intimate sequences open up, designed to offer different levels of experience. Light guides perception: it concentrates and reflects on the glossy surfaces of Grande Lume, deep and vibrant, while it is absorbed and diffused on more matte and tactile materials, creating a natural balance between energy and calm.
At the heart of the project, an absolute novelty: Grande Lume.
An evolution that takes the research on glaze and light to an unprecedented scale, amplifying expressiveness, depth, and architectural continuity. Alongside it, Crogiolo Lume, its origin and natural complement, maintains a more intimate dimension but is just as distinctive.
The project is built as a dialogue between different materials. Crogiolo Terramater, a multi-award-winning collection, introduces a more tactile and three-dimensional dimension, made of reliefs and semi-gloss surfaces that modulate the light. The large stone-effect slabs, inspired by warm and Mediterranean tones, bring balance and depth: matte and compact surfaces, crossed by soft and luminous veins.
This gives rise to a fluid mix & match, where every element contributes to a coherent narrative. Not just a sum of materials, but a design system in which research, design, and advanced technologies are integrated to offer a premium and contemporary vision of ceramics.
Ceramics thus become structure, furnishing, architecture: a complete tool capable of defining the space and accompanying new ways of living and designing.
