Until October 22 in Milan, the Grand Hotel of Elle Decor
Against the backdrop of the vibrant Fall Design Week in Milan, Elle Decor presents Grand Hotel - The Open House, an installation on the theme of hospitality and haute hôtellerie, created by the Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel firm.
The Open House is a pop-up hotel where visitors can stop for a cocktail, shop and enjoy a new hôtellerie experience.
The project is conceived around the idea of a public hotel that combines different functions and is open both to resident guests and the city in general.
For the floor of the Chef's table, the restaurant with show kitchen and dinner area, has been chosen Grand Carpet, the new Marazzi porcelain stoneware collection presented at Cersaie 2017 and designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. The collection, in 120x240 cm size and chosen in Smoke colour for this project, evokes the magnificence of an antique carpet, in which wear over the years has transformed the compositions into patterns which are similar but always different. Countless small pixels create a single, large, infinitely-repeatable pattern.
Marazzi Mystone Gris Fleury stone-effect stoneware has been chosen for the floor and walls of the hotel's Beauty room and Flowers & Scents room. A stone of French origin in a custom size, with an uneven grain which gives the interior a uniquely tactile character.
The project-installation will be open to the public from 6 to 22 October 2017 from 10 am to 9 pm, and is located in beautiful Palazzo Morando, at via Sant’Andrea 6 in Milan, in the heart of the city's fashion quarter.
The event will include themed talks, discussions and readings by the project's creators.
