Milano Design Film Festival - 1

For the second successive year, Marazzi, the world’s leading ceramic tiles brand, is one of the partners of the Milano Design Film Festival.

Marazzi presents “Watermark”, a work that stems from the collaboration between Canadian director Jennifer Baichwal and renowned photographer Edward Burtynsky. The documentary, which has already been a great critical success at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Berlin Film Festival, offers a touching and visually spectacular account of stories from all over the world on the relationship between man and water: what it means, what it teaches us, what we do with it and what the consequences of our way of using it are.

The partnership with the Milano Design Film Festival is just one of Marazzi’s many initiatives in the world of design and architecture. In fact, the innovative product approach at Marazzi primarily takes the form of research and dialogue between different disciplines and cultures: art, fashion, design, architecture, technology applied to natural materials.

An approach that has characterised Marazzi from the first fusion of industrial ceramics and design with the creation of the Triennale ‘4 curves tile’ (designed by Ponti and Rosselli in 1960) right through until today at the Marazzi Style Centre, where high quality products are created using advanced technologies also from an environmental perspective.

In fact, for Marazzi quality also means eco-sustainability. All products are created in respect of the environment thanks to a production process that limits the consumption of natural resources and optimises energy consumption and the reuse of industrial water.

The focus on design and the environment have always been among the most important values in the Marazzi world and this is why the Group is so proud to support the Milano Design Film Festival and a work with a strong environmental message like “Watermark”.
