Marazzi Group, a world leader in the ceramic tile industry and recognized as a symbol of the best of Made in Italy in furniture and design, has always focused on the well-being of people and the creation of inclusive and respectful environments.

Driven by the belief that everyone is called to do their part to build a society where every woman can live without fear and discrimination, Marazzi Group has organized a women’s self-defense course for its employees.

The course will be held at the Crogiolo Marazzi, the oldest production hub of the company, now a multifunctional space open to the community, on Tuesday, November 26th, the day after the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and will last for 4 hours.

The event aims to promote a concrete path to recognize and manage dangerous situations, both mentally and physically, by introducing participants to verbal self-defense techniques and strategies suitable for all ages and physical conditions. The course is organized in collaboration with Difesa Donna, an association with years of experience that specifically and thoroughly addresses the unfortunately current issue of violence against women, proposing a women’s anti-aggression method.

This initiative, which before self-defense hopes to spread respect, safety, and equality in every context, is part of the important People-Ness training program designed and planned by Marazzi Group to promote a culture of people’s well-being at 360°. Launched in January 2024, People-Ness has delivered over 500 hours of training and involved more than 200 people, nearly 70% of whom are women, through numerous meetings, events, and reflection moments dedicated to the entire company population, aiming to represent a real path of personal and collective growth.

In addition to the personal self-defense course, Marazzi Group has organized two other events at the Crogiolo Marazzi as part of the program realized by the Union of Municipalities of the Ceramic District on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women:

  • “Chi rimane”, a conference-show on the theme of femicide victims by the association Non è Colpa Mia, held on Saturday, November 23rd at 6:30 PM;
  • “In silenzio per rompere il silenzio”, scheduled for today, Monday, November 25th from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, which includes a silent march for high school students, promoted by the Union of Municipalities of the Ceramic District, and concludes at the Crogiolo Marazzi with the awarding of a creative contest “on the strength of change against gender violence” aimed at high school students.
