The work displays a sequence of objects and images from different cultures which represent often subtle variations on a variety of themes (including entomology collecting boxes, bread rolling pins from Rajasthan, photographs of Milan building façades from the Second World War by Giovanna Silva, scale models of submarines, photographs by Ari Versluis and Ellie Uyttenbroek of people wearing similar clothing, souvenir buildings, a Charlie Roberts painting and architectural working models by CZA) and generates mechanisms of “different repetition” which, according to the project’s concept, underlie the form of urban environments as we know them.
