Loft Renovation in Selinunte with SistemN - 1

Concrete effect and modern, minimalist geometrical forms are the central features of this renovation project, by Studio 4e

Large picture windows provide a wonderful view from this loft of 210 m2 a few km from the splendid coastline at Selinunte, near Trapani, owned by a young couple with a contemporary taste in interior design. The project, by the Studio 4e firm led by architects Fabio Costanzo and Maria Rosaria Piazza, involved a radical reworking of the loft's original layout to enable more effective use of the living spaces.

Fluidity and the expansion of space, lightness and luminosity are the key concepts of this renovation, where every feature is carefully designed to achieve an equilibrium that purifies the proportions of space and creates sensations of absolute harmony.

None of this could have been achieved without the use of innovative materials with excellent technical properties, such as concrete-effect porcelain stoneware, adopted as the new flooring for the lounge, kitchen and study.

In this context, the choice of Marazzi SistemN Bianco Porcelain stoneware was fundamental; its neutral shades and large size (60x120 cm) gave added spaciousness to the interiors, with continuity and greater luminosity. SistemN is the perfect blend of design, versatility and state-of-the-art technology; the 4 surfaces (natural, polished, bush-hammered and structured) and the various sizes allow its use in a wide variety of locations, both residential and commercial. The structured version is 20 mm thick, making it suitable for outdoor use, especially on paths, industrial areas and driveways.
