Minimalist interior design, wood furnishings in natural shades and concrete-look stoneware coverings: the right mix for a wellness-focused project
La Salud is a small herbalist's store in Zaragoza, Spain, which after 40 years in business required an updated look and especially more space, to meet the demand from its customers.
The project for the renovation of these retail premises, on two floors, was the work of A54Insitu. The architects modified the building's layout to make the most of the spaces available and allow the type of services offered to be expanded, while still conserving the business's original spirit.
The ground floor of the property, where the herbalist business is conducted, with the sale of organic products, is fundamental to the premises' operations. However, under the new project the basement is also used, for cosmetic demonstrations, personalised assessments, manual treatments/methods, and yoga and relaxation sessions for small groups.
The Memento collection by Marazzi provides exactly the right mood for these interiors, entirely focused on mental and physical wellness. Alongside the minimalist furnishings in wood in light, natural colours, the Memento collection provides the floor tiles for the retail premises, in the sophisticated Taupe colour. This concrete effect stoneware both fills and furnishes: its texture evokes the beauty of hand-made concrete features, making it an ideal solution for contemporary, metropolitan design schemes.
As well as the Taupe shade used here, the collection includes 4 other colours for the indoor version, in the Natural and Velvet surfaces, and 3 for the outdoor variant (20 mm thick), for decorating interiors such as lofts and renovated industrial buildings, but also for striking, fresh design schemes for farmhouses and other exclusive rural projects.
