Foodies’ Party @ Marazzi Showroom Milan
reading time: 2 minutes

On Thursday 21 May more than 70 architects and designers were at the Marazzi showroom in Milan for the first of the Foodies’ Parties organised as part of the Foodies’ Challenge circuit, the major competition involving 22 teams of top chefs and design professionals, asked to present their “food projects” which merge culinary excellence and the best Italian design.
Taking part was the team of architect and car designer Gioacchino Acampora and chef Eugenio Boer, who presented their “3D spaghetti with tomato sauce”.
The competing teams illustrate their creations with video clips (posted on www.foodieschallenge.it) which describe the dishes from idea to creation in terms of both substance and look. The on-line audience will vote for the dish which best represents Italian creativity in the kitchen in the competition's five categories: finger food, main dish, cake, cult food and street food.
Also present as well as the Acampora-Boer team were Professor Tognaccini, a Milan Lab nutritionist who discussed the subject of diet in sports, and Elena Sacco, an architect from DAP Studio, who presented her latest book.
