Vintage-style tiles for the barber’s shop in Taranto - 1

This eclectic, nostalgic shop features the chessboard-design D_Segni floor covering and subway-style Hello tiles

Brown Hair Experience almost resembles a barber’s in Williamsburg (NY), Shoreditch (London) or Kreuzberg (Berlin). In fact, this barber’s shop, designed by architect Massimo Milano of Gruppo Cactus, is located in Taranto.

Brown Hair Experience is more than just a barber’s shop: it is also a place to meet people and relax. The space, which was completely renovated and opened at the start of the year, combines a typically masculine style with ’50 vintage influences and references for an eclectic, trendy look.

The furnishing elements and accessories were carefully selected to recreate an environment with an industrial, nostalgic style: metal arm and pendant lamps, round hanging mirrors with leather hooks, rounded chairs and armchairs and industrial cabinets, also made of metal.

Raw wood, natural leather and black metal are materials with a distinctly industrial mood that perfectly match the finishes chosen for the shop’s floor and wall tiles.

Stoneware and ceramics are the perfect solution for a hair salon, an environment that requires constant cleaning and easy maintenance. The tiles in the D_Segni and Hello collections, chosen for this project, add further character to the room.

The floor’s black and white diagonal chessboard design has a ’50s vintage style. The Marazzi stoneware cement tiles in the D_Segni collection, presented in Midnight and Chalk shades, are perfect for producing this effect.

Meanwhile, the white subway-style tiles on the walls evoke a distinctly industrial mood: the collection of Hello small-size tiles makes it possible to create a subway-style wall covering, a trend that we have already discussed in this article.
