Bar counter: cement tile-effect stoneware coverings - 1

In the shopping centre at Curti (Caserta), Michele Iacopo Laezza and Giosuè Violante of 2A Architetti have designed the Juiss Premium Bar, an interior carefully styled down to the tiniest details.

Michele Iacopo Laezza and Giosuè Violante of 2A Architetti have designed the Juiss Premium Bar, located at Curti (Caserta), in a modern, recently constructed shopping centre housing well known brands, strategically positioned with good links to the area’s various towns. The light-filled interior overlooking the via Nazionale Appia, on the ground floor of the building, is accessed through the large glazed entrance, and the architects have taken meticulous care over the selection of its materials, colours and details.

The striking, original bar counter is covered with Marazzi Crogiolo Lume series porcelain stoneware tiles, here in Blue colour with Lux finish in the 6x24 cm size and 10 mm thickness; its different oxidised shades of blue and its glossy surface create a constant variety and a succession of light and dark hues, tone-on-tone, contrasting with the large gilded bottle rack in the top. The collection is available in various colours and sizes, which can be used in combined layouts. The counter, surrounded by stools upholstered in blue to match the tiles, is divided into two parts with specific functions; a “coffee area” on the side inside the shopping centre and a “cocktail area” on the side facing the road, enabling its use at different times of day, from breakfast to sundowner. The floor and the walls, underneath the wooden boiserie panel, are covered with the High Performance Mystone Ceppo di Gré collection, in Grey colour and natural/matt finish, in the 75x150 size. This stoneware perfectly reproduces the natural material of the Italian rock with its large pebble inclusions, and is manufactured with the exclusive StepWise™ technology, which guarantees the surface a high antislip coefficient, essential for the floors of heavily used interiors.
